Residential Window Cleaning in San Diego
What’s Included in Our Residential Service
Not every “window cleaning” service actually cleans the whole window. A lot of companies charge extra for the parts that make the biggest visible difference — screens, tracks, and sills. Ours doesn’t work that way.
Standard Service (Included Every Visit)
- Interior and exterior glass — purified water system, streak-free finish
- Window frames and sills wiped down
- Screens removed, hand-washed, and reinstalled
- Window tracks cleared of dirt, dust, and debris
- Interior mirrors (bathroom, wardrobe, floor-to-ceiling)
Additional Services (On Request)
- Deep track cleaning — brushing/vacuuming for heavy buildup
- Hard water spot removal & glass restoration
- Skylights
Exterior-only service is also available — see the pricing section below.
How We Handle San Diego’s Specific Window Problems
Most window cleaning companies treat every home the same way, regardless of the city. That doesn’t work in San Diego. Coastal homes fight salt film that can chemically etch glass if left too long. Homes near sprinklers and landscaping deal with hard water spotting. Homes near canyons pick up wind-driven dust in the tracks faster than anywhere else.
Our residential process adjusts for this. Coastal properties get more attention on the frame and sill (where salt residue accumulates fastest), while inland homes with sprinkler exposure get a closer check for early-stage hard water spotting — since it’s far easier to remove before it etches permanently.
Our Process, Step by Step
Track & Sill Prep
Tracks and sills brushed clear of debris before glass work starts.
Screen Removal
Screens hand-washed separately, then set aside to dry.
Wet Glass Pass
Purified water system saturates the glass — no soap residue, no spotting.
Frame & Edge Detail
Sea sponge cleans framing edges a squeegee alone would miss.
Squeegee Finish
Single controlled pass for a streak-free result.
Screens Reinstalled & Walkthrough
We walk the job with you before leaving.
Exterior-Only vs. Full-Service
Exterior-Only
Outside glass, frames, and sills. A faster, lower-cost visit — good for maintaining curb appeal between full cleanings.
Full-Service (Interior + Exterior)
Everything above, plus interior glass, screens, and tracks. Most homeowners choose this since the price difference is modest compared to getting every window fully clear, inside and out.

How Often Should You Clean Residential Windows?
Most San Diego homes do well with cleaning two to three times a year — for example, once in spring, once before fall. If you’re on the coast — La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Coronado, Point Loma, Del Mar — every 4–6 weeks or at minimum quarterly is worth considering, since salt air builds up on glass faster than almost anywhere else in the county. Homes with heavy tree cover or near active construction (parts of Scripps Ranch, Rancho Peñasquitos, and similar canyon-adjacent areas) may also need more frequent attention because of dust and debris in the tracks specifically, even if the glass itself still looks fine.
Why Hire a Professional Instead of DIY?
DIY window cleaning usually goes one of two ways: it takes an entire weekend, or it gets rushed and leaves streaks the moment the sun hits the glass. Paper towels leave lint. Spray bottles and step ladders don’t safely reach second-story windows. And cleaning screens, tracks, and sills properly — the part that actually makes windows look “professionally done” — takes real time most homeowners don’t have.
Professional equipment (purified water systems, proper squeegee technique) produces a result that’s hard to match by hand, and it does it in a fraction of the time — usually a couple of hours for a full home instead of a full weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you clean window screens as part of the standard service?
Yes — screens are removed, hand-washed, and reinstalled on every full-service visit, at no extra charge.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Not necessarily for exterior-only service. For full interior service, someone should be home (or provide access) so we can safely reach interior windows throughout the house.
Are you insured for multi-story homes?
Yes. Pacific Shine Window Care is licensed and insured for residential work, including second-story and multi-story homes using extension pole systems from the ground where appropriate.
Do you offer recurring service plans?
Yes — quarterly and semi-annual recurring plans are available with discounted rates compared to one-time visits. See our Membership & Maintenance Plans.
What if I only want the outside done?
That’s the exterior-only option — see the “Exterior-Only vs. Full-Service” section above for what’s included and how pricing differs.
